Candidate Transparency Policy

What we collect from you, how identity verification works, and the role of AI in your interview.

Last updated: September 23, 2026  ·  For candidates invited to interview through InterviewMyCandidate

IMC believes technology should make the hiring process more efficient, consistent, and informative while keeping people at the center of employment decisions. This Candidate Transparency Policy is intended to explain IMC’s policies regarding data submitted by Candidates or collected from Candidates in connection with the Service and the role of AI in our Services.

Definitions

The following words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Information Collected from Candidates

Candidates will be asked to provide a photo of the candidate and a valid government-issued photo ID to verify the Candidate’s identity. A driver license, passport, or other government photo ID are acceptable forms of ID.

To access an interview session, Candidates may also be asked to provide their name, email, phone number, the position applied for, and an interview session code.

IMC records and stores Candidate’s video and audio responses given during an interview. If a Candidate does not wish to be recorded, the Candidate should contact the Candidate’s recruiter directly before beginning an interview through IMC’s Services.

IMC also collects technical data from a Candidate such as IP address, approximate location from IP, browser, operating system, camera and microphone device labels, timestamps.

Technical data that IMC does not collect from Candidates includes activity outside your browser tab. IMC does not read your files, your keystrokes outside the interview window, other applications, other monitors, or the contents of other browser tabs.

IMC does not use any interview recordings, ID images, photographs, technical data, or other information collected from the Candidate to improve its Services or in connection with online advertising.

Retention

IMC will delete recordings of video interviews within thirty (30) days of a request by the Candidate. To request deletion of a video interview, please send an email to support@interviewmycandidate.com specifying the candidate’s full name and the email address used for the interview.

Use of AI in the Interview Process

AI is intended to assist people, not replace human judgment in hiring.

If identity verification is used in the course of the Services, its purpose is to help confirm candidate identity and protect the integrity of the recruiting process. Identity verification information is not used by IMC's AI to evaluate a Candidate’s qualifications or determine whether a Candidate should be hired.

Candidate interviews may be recorded, transcribed, summarized, and analyzed with the assistance of AI. AI-generated content is intended to help recruiters and hiring teams organize and review job-related information from your interview. It is a decision-support tool and is not intended to make the final hiring decision on its own.

IMC does not use any data collected from the Candidate during the course of the Service to train, teach, or improve its AI program.

IMC does not make hiring decisions and does not recommend candidates. Our Terms of Use require Customers to treat these outputs as information for human review only, and prohibit adverse action based solely on an automated output without a human reviewing the underlying recording.

If you believe an automated output affected a decision about you, contact the company that interviewed you. Depending on where you live you may have the right to an explanation, to human review and to contest the decision, including under the Illinois Artificial Intelligence Video Interview Act, New York City Local Law 144 and the Colorado AI Act.

How IMC uses Identity Photographs

Where the Customer enables identity verification, the Service captures two images at the start of your session: a photograph of the government-issued ID you present, and a selfie taken with your camera.

An agent of the Customer then looks at the two images side by side to confirm the person taking the interview is the person named on the ID. That comparison is made by a human being. The Prospective Employer does not receive a Candidate’s ID document or selfie image, only a confirmation that the identity was verified.

IMC does not use facial recognition. The Service does not generate a facial template, faceprint, or scan of face or hand geometry, and does not run automated face matching against your images or any database. IMC does not use facial data to infer emotion, personality, character, honesty, demographic characteristics, health or employability.

Candidate Message

Your experience, qualifications, and interview responses matter. IMC is designed to help ensure that the information you provide can be reviewed efficiently and consistently while supporting responsible human decision-making throughout the hiring process.
